Michael Powell is a Professor of Management at Griffith University. Previously he was Deputy Dean at the University of Auckland Business School. Michael has a PhD from The University of Chicago and has been an active researcher in the areas of professional service firms, professionalisation, leadership of change and public sector reform. He has a strong personal commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainability in business education and practice. Michael was the founding Chair of Habitat for Humanity, New Zealand, is Treasurer of the Australian Business Deans’ Council and serves on the Board of the international Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative. Griffith Business School was an early signatory to the UN Principles of Responsible Management Education, is an active member of the EFMD Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative and a founding member of the Asia Pacific Academy of Business in Society.
